About

Kia ora!
I’m Farrelly (Far-ELL-ee). I’ve been a full-time web and app developers for over 8 years. Recently I’ve done a mix of leading teams and being an individual contributor. With a majority of my experience being in the start-up space within Auckland and London.
Principally I’ve been using Typescript across React, React-Native, and NodeJS. I’ve shipped apps across a wide range of industries, from EduTech and FinTech, to Mobile apps as a service, all the way to my current role where I’m replatforming a CMS for Europe’s largest Social Housing provider.
Ultimately, I’m just passionate about programming. In my spare time I’m often tinkering on a new side project, just recently I released an analogue camera app to both app stores as well as creating and implementing a design system throughout my personal website.
I like to think of myself as a generalist who is mainly interested in frontend work. As a result I’ve worked with a substantial range of tools. Such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Firebase. Using relational as well as document databases. In conjunction with Nextjs, GraphQL, Expo, TurboRepo, Remotion, and many-many more.
Outside of programming you can find me going on long runs, labouring over where to drink coffee from, taking photos, making music, and traveling through Europe.
